The more scared you are of tearing, the more likely it becomes. Here's how to break that cycle.

In this free training, a pelvic floor PT shows you how to break that cycle — with the no breath-hold technique, clinical tearing prevention, and the delivery room confidence your OB doesn't have time to teach you.

SOUNDS FAMILIAR?

You're not just scared of tearing.

You're scared of losing control.

You've read the books, toured the hospital, packed the bag. But when it comes to the actual moment of pushing — nobody has prepared you for that.

The Fear Cycle mechanism

Here's what being unprepared actually costs you.

  • You're scared — of birth & pain

  • Your body tenses — muscles brace

  • You hold your breath — bearing down hard

  • Pelvic floor locks — can't open

  • Tearing — the outcome nobody wants

When you don't know how to push, your body guesses. It tenses. It holds its breath. It bears down instead of opening.

This is not your fault — it's what happens when nobody teaches you the technique. Your OB has 10 minutes with you in the room. This training fills that gap.

“As someone who had three deliveries before finding Dr. Betsey, I can't tell you how much this training would have changed things."

– Rachel T., Mom of Three

Did You Know...

1

Most birth injuries happen in the pushing stage and most are preventable with the right preparation.

2

Hospital birth classes cover contractions and car seats. They spend about 10 minutes on pushing technique.

3

The no breath-hold pushing method is backed by research — and almost nobody is teaching it to expecting moms.

4

A single pelvic floor PT session costs $150–$300. This training delivers 7+ years of clinical knowledge in under an hour. Free.

Moms who showed up prepared.

I wish I had this before my first delivery.

I had been dreading the pushing stage my entire pregnancy. After this training I finally understood what my body needed to do — and why my fear was actually making it harder. Game changer.

- Jamie L., Mom of Two

I went from terrified to actually excited about pushing.

- Sarah M., First-Time Mom

The no breath-hold technique was everything.

Nobody — not my OB, not my hospital class — had ever explained the breathing connection before. Once I understood it, I felt completely in control. My delivery nurse even said my pushing was textbook.

- Priya K., First-Time Mom

Clinical knowledge finally made simple.

As someone who had three deliveries before finding Dr. Betsey, I can't tell you how much this training would have changed things. The fear-tension-tearing connection alone is worth every minute of your time.

A 3rd or 4th degree tear isn't just pain. It's months.

Severe tearing can mean weeks of painful recovery, pelvic floor dysfunction affecting bladder control and intimacy for years, and significantly higher rates of postpartum depression.

Questions

"But I have questions…"

Everything you're wondering, answered honestly.

I'm getting an epidural. Does this still apply to me?

Yes — especially if you're getting an epidural. You'll push without full sensation, which makes technique more important, not less. The fear-tension cycle still applies even when you can't feel pain.

I already signed up for a hospital birth class.

Hospital birth classes are broad by design. They cover everything from contractions to car seat safety and typically spend very little time on pushing technique or tearing prevention. Think of this as the class inside the class.

I don't have a lot of time right now.

The live training is under an hour. Join July 16th at 7 PM ET, or watch the 48-hour replay at a time that works for you — even if the nursery needs finishing first.

I'm a second-time mom. Is this still for me?

Absolutely. Tearing can happen in any delivery. Many moms who had a difficult first birth find this training the most impactful — because they know exactly what they want to change.

Is this safe to watch late in my pregnancy?

Yes — appropriate at any stage of pregnancy. The earlier you watch, the more time you have to practice what you learn (especially the perineal massage bonus).
